LoL Server Status
Patch 26.20 deployed on October 7, 2026. If the client is asking you to update, you are not looking at an outage. If you are fully patched and login or matchmaking still fails, use Riot's status page. We do not proxy their incident feed.
Client will not leave the patcher
You are downloading 16.20.1 or a later hotfix. Wait for the bar. A stuck bar usually clears after a client restart, not a server outage.
Login works, queue does not pop
Matchmaking for one queue can stall while the rest of the platform is fine. Try a different queue once. If every queue fails, check Riot's status page before you reinstall.
Friends are in game and you are not
Your route to the region can fail while theirs does not. A VPN exit in another country often makes this worse. The status page lists platform incidents separately from game login.
Champ select dodge loop
That is a client or plugin crash, not downtime. Remove overlays and restart the client. Patch 26.20 also cut third-party memory reads, so old tools may crash the client on purpose.
Store or RP page fails
The store can be down while games still start. Finish the match you are in. Do not retry a purchase until the store page loads cleanly.
- Is League of Legends down right now?
- This site does not run Riot's platform, so it cannot show a live green or red light. The last scheduled game update was Patch 26.20 on October 7, 2026. Live incidents are posted at status.riotgames.com.
- What is LoL downtime versus a patch?
- A patch forces a client update and a short login queue. Downtime is when login, matchmaking, or the platform stays unavailable after the client is fully patched. Queues that pop for your friends mean your account or route is the problem.
